About the Event
Creativity has a cyclical nature - "there is a natural quickening, birth, rising to a zenith, entropy, decline and death” in the words of dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes. In other words, the creative cycle can be split into a natural spring, summer, fall and winter. But then, when we experience a block in our creativity the natural characteristics of these seasons can become manic, unpredictable and unhealthy. How do we reintroduce a sense of play, curiosity and intuitive expression into our lives?
I show up for my creativity daily and make a living out of what I create. I have developed and invested in special practices, both ancient and new, that help me to produce work I love and to practice art with vulnerability and authenticity. I believe that everyone is creative at heart. Sharing these practices with other creatives and helping them work through their creative blocks is my soul’s calling.
In the talk, Creative Seasons, I want to share what I have learnt about creative expression, how it adds to vitality, productivity and general spiritual health. By tracking the healthy creative cycle in this talk, I want to explore a sustainable way of practicing creativity that debunks the "struggling artist" persona.
